Our Work

We provide a platform with relevant content that advances the careers of our members in Earth and Environmental Sciences

The specific goal of the ESWB is to increase enthusiasm among students and early-career scientists across disciplines in Earth and Environment sciences through mentorship and career development programs, education and outreach programs, as well as networking opportunities.

ESWB chapters are in many different countries including Nigeria, Cameroon, Kenya, South Africa, the United States, and many more. These chapters are led by our team of Ambassadors.

Mentorship & Career Development

ESWB provides mentorship and peer-mentorship to students from developing countries by connecting them with other like-minded students and scientists in the developed world. There are a lot of outstanding and intelligent students across developing countries with little exposure to career development and opportunities in Earth and Environmental sciences. Through our program, ESWB will help nurture these students by connecting them to role models, ambassadors and scientists in similar field/discipline who can help guide and encourage them toward a successful path.

Education & Outreach

ESWB provides members with tailored educational tools/seminars which help to advance skills in topics they have signaled are personally important such as coding, writing, and research skills. Currently, speakers are invited to the bi-monthly meeting to discuss select topics that are overall beneficial to the members. In the future, ESWB hopes to create events, workshops and outreach programs with the goal of promoting Earth and Environmental Sciences across developing countries.

Networking

Through our platforms, ESWB can connect you to students, professionals, and research scientists that are in Earth and Environmental Sciences for the purpose of collaboration. Members can interact with each other across the globe through our WhatsApp messaging platform, Facebook page, and Zoom videoconferencing system.
